Jennifer Lawrence Covers Vogue's September Issue

The beautiful and talented Jennifer Lawrence graces Vogue's coveted September issue of the magazine. She looks amazing and her co-models are so freakin' cute - and oh.my.god. what I would give to wear those outfits.

I'm counting down the days until it hits newsstands on August 20.

Adele for Vogue

Let's take a little break from all the NYFW postings for a sec.

Adele is on the cover of the new issue of Vogue, and she is looking fantastic. I just love her.

She looks gorgeous in these shots. In fact, I personally think she looks great all the time. I love her style, I love her confidence and I love what comes across as realness. Oh, and I LOOOOOOOOOVE her music.

So much love - befitting of love-day. Happy Valentines Day everyone!

Vogue's Nude November

Nude November.

Just stating the obvious here. Vogue's across the world have plastered magazine racks with nude cover models - trending nudity!

Enjoy the stunning images and appreciate the photography, it just might help if you're having a case of the Mondays - I sure am.

Williams Channels Monroe for Vogue

All photos: Annie Leibovitz for Vogue
Michelle Williams covers the October issue of Vogue doing her best Marilyn. The photos were taken by famed photographer Annie Leibovitz and are obviously amazing. The spread seems to be a prelude to the release of Michelle Williams' new movie My Week With Marilyn. I have to be honest - she does a good Marilyn.

Back in her Dawson's Creek days I wasn't such a fan of her, but now things are different. She always seems to pick the right movies to star in and she carries herself with great grace while managing to fly under the radar and stay out of the spotlight, leaving the lights for other fame hungry stars.

I love everything about her styling in these images! Huge fan of the old world style.

File This Under Strange

So, the apparent inspiration behind the cover shoot for the September 2011 issue of Vogue Italia is a woman by the name of Ethel Granger. The small waist on the model is supposed to mirror the real life 13 inch waist of Granger- you read me right thirteen inches - the smallest waist in recorded history.

The whole process was initiated and encourage by her husband William Arnold Granger. Ethel wore a corset pretty much 24 hours a day to reshape her initial 24 inch waist – which already seems tiny to begin with! The whole idea of doing something so disfiguring to your body is beyond me. I can see the artistic value with the fashion photography angle used by Vogue for their cover shoot, but I struggle to see the value of physically doing this as a human being.

I know these shrinking waists were all the rage in centuries past but they were never a healthy approach to fashion, they just fed into the accepted ideals of body image back then. The fact that someone would bring this into the 21st century troubles me, but to each their own I guess!

Dali For Vogue

1939

1944

1946

1971
 Who knew!

Legendary artist Salvador Dali created the cover art for 4 issues of Vogue, the first hitting newstands in 1939 and the last in 1971. You can't grow up anywhere and not be aware of Dali's works - they're everywhere, but these little gems really took me by surprise.

They are all amazing works, but I need to pick a fave and it's the one he did for the mag in 1939. The colouring is amazing and the two figures seem so well dressed, everyone wears the finest on the cover of Vogue!

Vogue Spain

All photos: Tom Munro for Vogue Spain
Katie Holmes graces the cover of the August issue of Vogue Spain looking phenomenal.

I tend to find she often looks awkward in photos but this spread is amazing and she looks great - with the exception of a few shots where I can sort of see the awkward creeping in. I will look past this and see the entire spread as stunning – great photography and great styling.

For the cover shot, Katie is wearing a lace dress from Lanvin’s 2011 Fall/Winter collection – which makes me envious.
Again, I echo the fact that I would love to do a professional shoot like this!

Vogue Italia

Tara Lynn, Candice Huffine and Robyn Lawley for the cover of Vogue Italia. Styled by Edward Enninful and photographed by Steven Meisel.
Kudos to Franca Sozzani, Vogue Italia’s Editor-in-Chief.

If my so humble opinion is called on, I think her decision to put three gorgeous plus-sized models on the cover of the June 2011 issue is applaudable, commendable and every other possible synonym for which she can be given praise applies.

Sozzani is making attempts to speak out against anorexia with this cover shot and has also started a petition to shut down websites that promote this too often deadly disorder.

In a society in which the youth look to magazines and celebrities to build self-esteem, we need to have more covers like this and curvier celebrity role models. In recent years, I think we have been heading in the right direction but I also fear that curvier is just ‘trending’ and the skinnier, more emaciated images of models could once again grace the cover of magazines.
