Let's Not Skirt This Obsession

I have a bit of an obsession at the moment with a-line midi skirts. It's such a classic look with a silhouette that works well on every body shape - singed at the waist and flared at the hips!

Putting together an outfit with a fun, flirty skirt has never been easier. These skirts look great paired with a simple tee and statement necklace, or class it up a bit with a nicer blouse and pair of over sized pearl earrings.

Oooooh I can't wait for the weather to turn up so I can start doing the bare-leg and wear these skirts!

Red Hot Trousers

Recent purchase - just a few hours old!

I picked these red pants up at Zara earlier today because I was attracted to the colour but also the texture they've got going on. There's a bit of a lace-like pattern to them which adds some funk to an otherwise ordinary pair of pants.

I'm taking them home to try on with a few things I have in mind - I hope things work out between us because I'd really like it if we could stay together!

Some Zara Goodness

Before I go on about more of my spending - let me apologies for my recent hiatus' and then we'll come right back around to this skirt.

big.life.changes. I got engaged a few months ago so I've been in full-on planning mode and haven't really had much time to think about or do anything else! I'll try to get myself back on track shortly - all my ducks are lining up quite nicely and I'm trying to get it all done so I can enjoy the summer! Between planning a wedding and looking for our first house, I've been a busy Betty.

So back to the skirt - Zara purchase for $60 and I think I want to work it into an engagement shoot I have in a few weeks! It has a great flow to it and I love this colour in everything - a bit Fall but with the right colours, we can make it work! A great top with a fabulous belt and voilà!

If I pull it all together and the skirt makes it into our photos, I'll be sure to share a good shot of the outfit with you! I have every intention to start posting outfit and style shots but I don't have the right set-up yet to do it with ease - stay with me!

Summertime Prep

I be preppin' for the summertime - even though I should be saving my dollars! No matter how often I tell myself that, it's still so hard to resist the temptation of a purchase.

Let's start with Exhibit A - White Coton/Linen blend Blazer from H&M

I've been searching high and low for a white summer blazer only to find them priced way higher than I want to pay...until I came across this one at H&M. I fluked across it since I seldom enter H&M - I find their stuff a little cheap for my liking but this gem trumps that thought for a second. I think I'll be prancing around quite often in this blazer. Here's to hoping it remains stain free for at least a few wears!

Exhibit B and C - Zara dress and linen top

Love the back of this dress and for under 30 buckeroos I can jump on the trend bandwagon and get one of those business in the front, party in the back hems! I wouldn't wear this solo unless used as a coverup for the beach. I think it would look great with a belt and denim jacket - can't wait to wear you!

I'm not sure if I've confessed to it on my blog - but, I have a bit of an addiction to linen. It's my most favourite summer fabric and I can't get enough of it - which I clearly demonstrated by buying this tank top! It would look wonderful paired with my new white blazer - n'est ce pas?

These purchases aside, I think I've been a good little consumer and haven't been in the stores too often lately so that I don't tempt myself.

Zara Spring/Summer 2012

This just in-box.

Zara has released their 2012 Spring/Summer collection. Now we're talking more affordable fashions - more my speed!

Although the quality of most of their stuff is, well let's say it - shit - some of it ain't so bad. This works for those fashion pieces you want to grab for a season and then watch unravel in a few months. HOWEVER, I am a fan of their dresses from time to time and so far *fingers crossed* I haven't had to stitch an unraveling seam or fix a busted zipper.

These are some of my faves – might have to sneak out shortly and check them out in-store.
