Stroke of Genius

Rosso Solini - heard of them? Neither had I, until a few minutes ago.

This is one of those seemingly simple, why-didn't-I-think-of-that, laugh all the way to the bank ideas.

Tara Haughton, a very entrepreneurial 16 year old from Ireland - six-teen, there's no typo - has crowned herself CEO of Rosso Solini, her very own start-up company.

Ms Haughton may have found the simplest and cheapest solution to owning a pair of Louboutin - fake it. Does anyone really pay attention to the rest of the shoe after they see the red sole of a Louboutin? My thoughts generally go a little something like 'Oh, red soles. She's wearing Louboutins.' I don't bend down and inspect the grain of the leather or the construction of the shoe ... so, what I mean to say is - you are likely to fool a lot more people with the fakes than to BE a fool and pay $800+ for the real thing. Exception being, if you have the money for the real thing - spring for 'em!

Red stickers aside, I like how she branches out with an assortment of colours, patterns and images. The appeal of the website is a little disappointing - she can win a few more marketing points by sprucing it up.
