Mayhem for the MET

Ahead of the 2014 MET Gala, Vogue is posting some photos of this little cutie playing dress up.

Vogue has been posting images on their Instagram account of Mayhem, a little four year old, dressing up in some of the more memorable fashions from MET Galas past.

A quick visit to @2sisters_angie, reveals that dressing up is something that Mayhem is heavily involved in! Her mother Angie spends some quality mother/daughter time by playing dress up with Mayhem (is that really her daughter's name??) on a fairly frequent basis!

One would assume, this little tot is going to grow up to create Mayhem in the fashion world!

McQueen Stained Glass Print

This Alexander McQueen stained glass print jersey dress doesn't look like much on the rack - I wouldn't even think to pick it up and try it on. The busy pattern alone coupled with all those colours is enough to make me want to steer clear of it.

However, Nicki Minaj recently posted a picture of herself wearing the dress to her Instagram and it looks phenomenal! She looks stunning in the photo. Girl's got curves - and I think that's exactly what you need to pull off this dress.

So, if you've got close to $1,500 just waiting to be spent and a few extra pounds around the hips, you can go ahead and afford yourself this dress AND look fabulous in it. It's gotta be your birthday soon, right?

Gummy Bear Couture

This is what putting pounds and pounds ... and pounds of gummy bears to good use looks like!

The dress is made up of 50,000 gummies and weighs 220 pounds. If I were working on this piece, there would be some missing material ... just sayin'!

The gummy bear dress was created by Hissa Igarashi and Sayuri Marakumi for TWELV magazine with inspiration from this Alexander McQueen creation.

Met Gala - The Good

Camilla Belle in Ralph Lauren

Cate Blanchett in McQueen

Diane Kruger in Prada

Gennifer Goodwin in Monique Lhuillier

Jessica Alba in Michael Kors
These ladies looked phenomenal in their selections.

Diane Kruger is a bit out of the box with her gown, but i'm liking it! The colour is gorgeous and the fit has a relaxed chic vibe to it. She may not make it to your best dressed list, but she sure is on mine!

Gennifer Goodwin looks great in Tangerine Tango - the colour of the year! An unusual colour selection in my opinion, but she worked it.

As for Camilla, Cate and Jessica - I would love to borrow your dresses when you're through with them!

Alexander McQueen - Fall 2012

Is it weird that I sort of love these designs - and would even go so far as to wear them?

Something about McQueen makes me throw my low-key style out the window and throw one of these designs on.

McQ - Runway Finale

How's this for a grand finale? Pretty spectacular.

What a way to introduce McQ to the runway, the new lower priced line by Alexander McQueen.

Alexander McQueen - Pre-Fall 2012

Feast your eyes on these beautiful creations ladies - and gents. Sarah Burton is consistently blowing my mind with her designs and overall amazingness.

These are all my favourite looks, but my MOST favourite is the third one from the top - loving the structure, the colour, the pattern, the texture. Everything about it is so wonderful - except the price tag of course, because I can't afford it!

ps. New Years resolution #5,091 - Stop slacking on the postings. I Promise.

I like it when people get creative.

Feast your eyes on these four striking pieces of fashion, substituting fabrics with food. Delicious (with the exception of the anchovies).

Alexander McQueen - Spring 2012

It was sad to lose a highly talented designer this year, the likes we have rarely seen before. Alexander McQueen was one in a million and he has left a lasting legacy through his designs and no doubt inspired many designers with his creations.

McQueen has left huge shoes to fill in the fashion world, but Sarah Burton has taken charge and is doing a stellar job at filling those pumps! The Spring 2012 collection was shown at Paris Fashion Week this week and is sure to be met with some great reviews from the fashionspere. Her designs are stunning, and though they are a little over the top they are still quite wearable - really. I think she will do wonders for the fashion house moving forward and has already succeeded in really making an international name for herself.

All I want for hannukah is .... a Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen dress. I hope Harry Hannukah pulls through.
